national indigenous peoples day

The Second Monday in October is National Indigenous People’s Day. Originally created as a counter-celebration of Columbus Day,  National Indigenous Peoples Day aims to promote Native American culture and commemorate the history of Native American peoples.

This day recognizes 500 years of resistance and the continued existence of North American Indigenous people.

Celebrate it or not, it is a message to remember.
